If you are looking to download straight from the torrents, the idea with this media player is that you can hook your USB Mass storage or external hard drive directly to the Briteview and simultaneously download three torrents at once. This would free up your computer from having to download movies, or whatever from the torrent. I think, if you are planning on hooking up a wireless setup, the older Briteview will require a wireless adapter, and the newer version, the "mini" player comes with the wireless adapter. I am not familiar with Vuze, but if it is a network server, then the Briteview should play your torrent files if they are in the correct format and if it is compatible with Vuze. It may not be the best advice, but I use Windows Media Player 11 as my server to access my NAS and I haven't had alot of experience with torrent downloads. As long as I have the video files in a format that my player will recognize, everything runs smoothly.

I'm sorry if I'm being dense. I'm looking for a torrent-capable media streamer to augment the recently-cancelled-able-household. I'm tired of piling around my laptop to watch things as a family. Is this device capable of playing those torrents that I download from other devices to a NAS in the house? I was confused by the "play to USB port" ... in other words I store the torrent and subsequent files on a NAS (vuse) - can I stream them to my TV with this box? Thanks for the advice.

Hey Jason,

I know a couple players here on DMP Guide have playback support for ISO files, like the Sony SMP-N100 and the Xtreamer models can play Blu-Ray ISO files. There is an important distinction on how you can play them. The majority of the players will not stream the ISO files wirelessly. The only way I have found to access them is through a direct connection to a USB drive. For example, the Xtreamer website says that their DMP can only play ISO files through simple navigation. Likewise, the Sony player will only play the files through the USB port. I found this out the hard way, because I didn't read the directions and thought that any files could be streamed wirelessly. I would recommend looking at your specific manufacturer's specifications for your player to find out how it can play ISO files. As to your second question, I do not know of a AC powered hard drive that you can hook directly up to a TV and play any files. You will need some sort of interface device, such as a digital media player, to help you view your files on your TV.
